Prepare for Work Desktop 10.10!

iManage released an announcement regarding changes in the upcoming Work Desktop 10.10. If you are configured for automatic updates of the client, this can affect you and your users soon. The client changes will require an updated imWorkOptions.xml file to be applied to take advantage of these changes.

New Work Desktop for Windows Open and Save experience
The new Open and Save is very similar to the classic clients (DeskSite\FileSite) that many of us remember.

Users will receive a banner to opt-in to the new features.

To take advantage of this, Administrators will need to download and update the new imWorkOptions.xml file and deploy to the users either via iManage Work or by desktop policy.

The required configurations include how information is displayed when users opt in to the new Open and Save experience, including:

  • The formatting of information displayed in the new experience dialogs, such as user names and properties.
  • Whether the Recent clients Quick link is displayed in the new experience dialogs, and which custom metadata property is displayed (custom1 is the default).
  • Whether the New folder button is displayed, letting users create folders within the new Open and Save experience dialogs.
  • The ability to perform advanced searches on other languages (other than English) in new Open and Save experience dialogs. By default, advanced searches are performed in English in the new dialogs.
  • The default list and order of properties displayed in the grid.

The new experience can also be disabled by adjusting the EnableNativeFilePicker setting in the configuration file.

This new client will be available via the EAP program as soon as April 29, 2025.

Auto updates begin May 13, 2025.

Full download available May 27, 2025.
