Microsoft Intune Connector for Active Directory Requires .NET Framework for Hybrid Azure AD Join Deployments

Included as part of the latest updates to Windows Autopilot, Microsoft has announced that starting in September 2022, the Intune Connector for Active Directory (ODJ Connector) will require .NET Framework version 4.7.2 or later to function correctly. This is a critical infrastructure component in Hybrid Azure AD Join deployments, and customers utilizing this configuration may encounter Autopilot failures if the server running the Intune Connector for Active Directory software is not using the required version of .NET Framework.

Microsoft is advising customers to update to .NET Framework 4.7.2 or later and install a new Intune Connector for Active Directory using the latest version available from the Microsoft Endpoint Manager admin center. If the update is not performed using the latest version, there is no guarantee that Autopilot deployments using Hybrid Azure AD Join will continue to work. Likewise, the auto-upgrade feature which provides updates to the Intune Connector Active Directory will also no longer function.
